Castle Keep Barn

Situated within the heart of a traditional Shropshire village in the grounds of the owner’s home, this spacious converted barn is an ideal base to get away and enjoy the countryside.

Called 'Castle Keep Barn' after archaeological work in the 1960s found a stone and timber structure dating to the 12th century. The largest part would have been an inpressive 18 metre tall square tower keep. Evidence suggested the castle went out of use in the 13th century when the timber buildings were burnt down and the ramparts levelled and used to fill in the ditch.
